MY APPROACH

I have 25 years experience as a Humanistic Psychotherapist which means that I approach suffering as an opportunity for personal awakening.

As such it is a message of hope.

The process of therapy works as a collaboration between therapist and client. It is as gentle as it is powerful and begins with acceptance of ‘what is’ in the here and now. No client is pressed to proceed more quickly than they can manage, nor to express more than they can hear.

In this way it is a client-centered process.

Every human life is unique and therapy develops around what matters to you personally. Your current challenges and the context of your life both reflect who you are and provide the opportunity for change. All that is required of you is the courage to come forward.

My practice is holistic, meaning that I work at the intersection of mind, body and spirit.

Clients are increasingly seeking to accommodate neurodiverse behavioural patterns. ADHD, gender-fluidity, social media and a range of cultural norms bring diversity to the therapy process. Advances in research and technology invite new ways of responding to a fast moving world.

Arc-Therapy combines what is known with what we seek to know.

In a given session a client will experience:

  • an initial guided meditation for grounding and presence

  • a compassionate enquiry around the presenting issue

  • exploring how the issue shows up in daily life and how this impacts on work, family and relationships

  • a visualisation, breathing or mindfulness exercise

  • developmental strategies and techniques that can be taken from the session into daily life

  • a mindful, calming, session consolidation
